Things Fall Apart is the first in Robert Darroll's Taiwanese Trilogy which follows as an interpretation to a lengthy period of teaching in Taiwan. It is dedicated to Darroll's students in the Department of Digital Media at Ming Chuan University. The short was created as part of Darroll's research into Digital Aesthetics. The scenes were shot mostly in Taoyuan and Tianmu, Taipei. The film serves as a reminder that everything that comes into existence is temporary.
