The story follows Bunta, who has lost his job and family, as he joins a mysterious company called Nonamare. He is tasked with using small, seemingly trivial supernatural abilities to save the world. A core rule of his employment is that he cannot fall in love. He lives with a woman named Shiki who has lost her memory and believes they are married. The series moves from a comedic tone in the first half to a more serious tone in the second half.
