Snapshots and characters from everyday life in a small town. During the years of the Metaxas dictatorship, a troupe of wandering and failed actors arrives in a small provincial town in the Peloponnese to play Hamlet. The play's Ophelia, a young and provocatively beautiful actress, Rena, upsets the residents with her presence. Some want to conquer her romantically, some others dream of marrying her, to some others she reminds them of the ghosts of their youth, while all the women of the small town treat her as unwanted and hate her. Her presence will activate everyone's desires, dreams and repressed ambitions and life for as long as the performances last.  When one day they depart they will leave behind a climate of bitterness and disappointment as everyday life will once again return to the usual boredom and monotony...
