The Mane Six are the main characters of the animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The group consists of six pony friends: Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy. Created by Lauren Faust, the Mane Six were designed to represent different elements and positive aspects of friendship through the Elements of Harmony, a set of six magical artifacts used to defend Equestria against powerful threats.
